Panhellenic Council

Panhellenic Council

Welcome to Furman! We are excited to have you on campus and are looking forward to formal recruitment in January. Furman Panhellenic Council is the governing body of 6 sororities at Furman and plans and oversees the recruitment process. Furman has a "deferred recruitment" process, giving each freshman the time and ability to meet friends and settle into college during the first critical months. We encourage every girl at Furman to sign up for the recruitment process and to see if sorority life is right for you. After signing up for recruitment, each girl is assigned a "Pi Chi" and placed in a group of potential new members that helps with all recruitment activities and ensures a smooth transition into Greek life. Pi Chi's are unaffiliated during recruitment and serve as a valuable tool to help you make your decision.

Every chapter emphasizes excellent scholarship, community service, offers a variety of leadership opportunities, and strong friendships to last a lifetime.

Sororities symbolize all that we wish to accomplish in our lives. They represent the struggles we all face as we grow. Why we cling to them no one can explain, but in the end, we are all stronger for it.
