Anika is a Pre-Dental student majoring in Biology. She is from Chanhassen, Minnesota. At Furman, Anika spends her free time volunteering at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic through Heller Service Corps., participating in her sorority, Delta Gamma, and engaging in the Alpha Epsilon Delta chapter of The National Pre-Health Honor Society's meetings and events. After graduation, Anika plans on going to dental school to become an Orthodontist.
Grayson is a Pre-Med student from Columbus, Ohio. Because of his connections with the Heller Service Corps. at Furman, he has obtained volunteer opportunities at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic to further engage his interests in the medical field. Grayson is also a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta chapter of The National Pre-Health Honor Society at Furman, and a First Year Advisor (FRAD) for Furman University's Engaged Living Program. In the future, he hopes to go to medical school to become a surgeon.
Peter is a Neuroscience major from Greensboro, North Carolina with aspirations of attending medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. At Furman, he actively participates in the Furman Club Soccer Team, Kappa Alpha Order fraternity, and leads campus tours as a Furman Admissions Ambassador. Peter also engages in research within the Neuroscience department, focusing on cell death and formation.
J.P. is from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is an intended Political Science Major with aspirations to further his education beyond Furman through Law school or by pursuing an MBA. J.P. was the Freshmen Class President at Furman. His other campus involvements include the Riley Advance Team, College Republicans, the Fish & Fly Club, and Club Lacrosse.
Brittany is from Aiken, South Carolina. She is double majoring in Communication Studies and Computer Science and hopes to utilize her skills gained from Furman to maximize her innovative intelligence skills. Beyond the classroom, she enjoys programming major activities and events for the Furman community through her role in the Furman University Student Activities Board, tutoring at risk children at local elementary schools, and volunteering her time and talents in the community through Kappa Delta Zeta Pi's Philanthropic events.
Nikita Dephande is from Greenville, South Carolina. At Furman, Nikita is studying Neuroscience, on a Pre-Med track. She is the Head of Sponsorship for Furman University TEDx, a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, a tutor for the Furman Tutoring Program, and a Hollingsworth Scholar. She continues to demonstrate her passion for health through volunteering at the Greenville Free Clinic, mentoring with STEM Mentors, and interning with the Greenville Health System. She is also the co-founder of the student organization "I Am That Girl." In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling cooking, doing yoga. She hopes to pursue a medical degree and complete a residency in neurology or surgery. She would love to combine her passion for travel and medicine and work for Doctors without Borders.
Tucker Erdmann is from Cumberland, Maine. At Furman, he studies both Economics and Chinese. Tucker is the Vice President of Philanthropy for Furman University Intra-Fraternity Council. He continues to be involved in athletics through club soccer and club baseball. He is a member of Orientation Staff as well as a Resident Assistant. In his free time, he enjoys cycling and playing sports. He hopes to one day pursue a career in Insurance or International Business.
Georquel is currently pursing dual degrees in Political Science and International Business. He is from Santee, South Carolina. At Furman, G. continues to invest his time and energy into organizations and extracurricular groups that relate to both of his majors, including his leadership role in the Furman Chapter of NAACP as the Public Liaison, serving as the Publicity and Business Affairs Chairperson for the Furman University Student League for Black Culture, and through his membership in the Richard W. Riley Institute of Government, Politics, and Public Leadership. Following graduation, he hopes to achieve a J.D./M.B.A. dual degree in hopes of becoming an international business attorney.
Emily is from Clemmons, North Carolina double majoring in Communication Studies and Asian Studies. She pursues her interest in debate through her involvement in Mock Trial. She is a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and a Resident Assistant. She has interned with Cultivating Leadership, a company that helps leaders become better able to handle the complex, ambiguous, and sometimes conflict-ridden world of today. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and listening to music. In the future, she would love to work as a correspondent for a news station or work in international politics.
Lexie is from Nashville, Tennessee and majors in Political Science. Her career dream is to one day work in advocacy for developing nations. She has a passion and a talent for sharing information with others in a dynamic and impressionable way. At Furman she invests in others through leadership of the Shucker New Fellows program as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is also a member of the Kappa Delta women's fraternity. After graduation, Lexie hopes to work in advocacy for developing nations.
Carter is from Aiken, South Carolina, double majoring in Economics and English. At Furman, he leads local youth as a YoungLife leader and writes as the Sports Editor for the Furman Newspaper. After graduation, Carter hopes to attend either law school or an MBA program to ultimately become an economist for a newspaper or journal.
Emily is from Birmingham, Alabama. Although Emma is an undecided major, she has taken initiative to participate in organizations and opportunities to better assess her passions and interests. Some of these organizations include her role as a Coordinator for Heller Service Corps., Head Curator for TEDxFurmanU, and her involvement in the Furman Creative Collaborative Club. Emma is also a member of the Epsilon Lambda Chapter of the Chi Omega women's sorority. Over the next three years she hopes to determine her career plans.
Alyx is a Pre-Law student studying both Psychology and French from Chattanooga, Tennessee. On campus, Alyx participates in Furman's co-ed a cappella group, Furman FUtones, by serving as the organization's treasurer. This semester Alyx will be leading and mentoring freshmen students in her role as a Resident Assistant through Furman University Housing and Residence Life. Additionally, Alyx is a member of the Gamma Xi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
Lucy is a Political Science major from Rome, Georgia. At Furman, aside from academics, Lucy discovered she could strengthen her interest in politics, government, and public leadership by gaining membership and actively involving herself in various organizations. Some of these organizations include Furman University's Student Conduct Board, TedXFurmanU, and the Richard W. Riley Institute, named for former Governor of South Carolina and United States Secretary of Education Richard Riley. She is also a member of the Zeta Upsilon chapter of the Delta Gamma women's sorority. Since Lucy has been a Furman Paladin she has traveled abroad through Furman's Study Away Programs twice. Learning about people whose experiences are markedly different from her own is vital to making her life meaningful. After graduation, she hopes to either teach or go to law school.
Natalia is a Biochemistry major from Hinsdale, Illinois. Beyond the classroom, she demonstrates her passion for tennis at Furman through her involvement in Furman's Club Tennis. She is a member of the Heller Service Corps, Chi Omega Women's Fraternity, and coordinator for A Child's Haven-a child's development center. Natalia is also the fundraising chair for Relay for Life. She hopes to pursue a medical degree and complete a residency in pediatrics, neonatology, or specialize in rare diseases. She loves working with children and hopes to incorporate children into her career one day.
Kathleen is from Nashville, Tennessee. At Furman she intends to major in both Economics and Spanish, hoping one day to work in the Finance industry. Since coming to Furman she has pursued involvement and leadership opportunities in Greek Life through the Chi Omega women's fraternity and within the Furman University Outdoors Club. After graduation, Kathleen hopes to work in Finance.
Margaret grew up in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Margaret is studying English and is on the Pre- Speech Pathology path. On campus, Margaret works in the Writing and Media Lab. She also works as a tour guide at the Boone Hall Plantation. She shows her love for music through Furman Singers, and classical singing through her music scholarship. She is the co-founder and Vice President of Furman Swing and Shag, member of the Delta Gamma sorority, and currently learning American Sign Language. Margaret hopes to pursue a career in Speech Pathology, Audiology, or teaching at a university. Her life goal is to open people's ears to the world around them!
Jackson's hometown is Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He is pursuing a degree from Furman in Psychology and is on the Pre-Med track. At Furman, Jackson quickly identified opportunities to get involved and even created new experiences for Furman students. As a first-term freshman he started the Swing and Shag Club, through which he successfully coordinated a Mardi Gras Ball and the Yule Ball for Furman students. He enjoys being a "face of Furman" serving as an Admissions Ambassador. He was voted as the most outstanding male leader in his Freshmen class and he was presented with the Alfred S. Reid Memorial Award at the 2015 Student Life Leadership Awards Banquet.
Casey is a Communication Studies major from Tampa, Florida. She is considering adding Political Science as a second major because she has a strong interest in working one day in public relations for a political campaign or political party. At Furman, Casey is involved and in leadership through Furman's most creative and exciting campus organization, FUSAB (Furman University Student Activities Board). There, she is putting her communication talents to work as a part of the Hype Team designing creative publicity for programs and events. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi women's fraternity as well as Orientation staff.
Chandler is from Roswell, Georgia, double majoring in Business Administration and German Studies. Beyond the classroom, he is heavily involved by leading the sophomore class as the Student Class President, participating in various campus organizations and groups such as Orientation Staff, Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, Heller Service Corps., and Furman Admissions Ambassadors. While at Furman, Chandler hopes to travel abroad to build upon his previous travel experiences and further his interest in international business. In his free time, Chandler enjoys being active outdoors.
Haley is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. At Furman, Haley is interested in Communication Studies and Education. She participates in competitive horseback riding as a member of the Furman University Equestrian Team and works as the public relations officer for the team. She is a member of the Delta Delta Delta women's fraternity, a member of the Furman Dance Company, and a volunteer with the Heller Service Corps. Haley loves working with people and hopes to work in a field where she can interact with people on a daily basis.
Nick is from Charlotte, North Carolina. At Furman, his majors are Philosophy and Sociology with a minor in Poverty Studies. He met with prospective students and families through the Furman Futures program with the Admissions Office. Nick is a Freshman Advisor for Student and Residence Life, a member of the student conduct board, and works for Information Technology services. Nick would love to one day work as a Financial Ethicist or a professor of philosophy at a university.
Meredith graduated from Grimsley High school in Greensboro, North Carolina. At Furman, she is double majoring in Spanish and Economics. She is an Admissions Ambassador, a member of the Chi Omega women's fraternity, a Heller Service Corps Executive member, and works in the childcare facilities at Mitchell Roads Church. She is the co-founder of the student organization "I Am That Girl." She has become an active student on campus and uses her leadership skills in many student organizations.
Connor is from Knoxville, Tennessee. At Furman, Connor's academic interests lie in Pre-Law or Business. Currently, he has a craving to either purse Corporate Law or Accounting but during his time at Furman Connor hopes to better define his career aspirations. On campus, he is a Furman Admissions Ambassador, mentor for Heller Service Corps Men of Distinction program, member of the Furman Club Tennis and Club Volleyball teams, and representative for Heller Service Corps.
