Mission
Foster the development of student leaders while emphasizing self-knowledge, initiative, commitment, collaboration and experiential learning; to promote the ideals of citizenship and community service; and to extend the opportunity and duty of leadership to all individuals within the Furman community and beyond.
Description
The Shucker Center for Leadership Development is named in honor of former Vice President for Student Life, Dr. Harry B. Shucker. The Shucker Leadership Institute is the flagship program of the Shucker Center and has existed in some capacity since 1995. Other Shucker Center programs and offerings include the Furman Cirlce of ODK, Furman Student Leadership Awards, StrenghsQuest programs and Team Building Services.
