International Education Accepted Students Furman

Congratulations on your admission to Furman! When you arrive here, you'll begin to take advantage of our challenging academic programs, beautiful campus and outstanding faculty. But before that happens, we'd like to get you ready for the first day of class. We've compiled all the resources you'll need for your first semester at Furman.

New student checklist

From learning how to submit your enrollment deposit to reviewing your financial aid status, we have created a new student checklist that will help you identify what you need to complete before classes begin. View our international student checklist.

Health insurance

Due to the higher cost of health care in the United States, international students and their accompanying dependents must carry health insurance that meets or exceeds U.S. F-1 or J-1 visa regulations. Enrolling in a good health insurance plan is for your protection and it is important that you carry your insurance card at all times and understand the details of your policy. If you are an F-1 visa student, you will be automatically enrolled in the VISIT international health insurance program

Be sure to complete our three-step process to ensure we have your latest medical and immunization records. Check out our guide to required immunizations. Our international student checklist provides the link to upload the required immunization information online. Visit our new student checklist.

Visas and immigration

The U.S. has specific rules and regulations you must follow to obtain your visa. Contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate to apply for an F-1 or J-1 visa.

register for courses

International students will be contacted in late June with information on setting up a Skype conversation with an advisor to make course selections.
