Welcome

The Housing & Residence Life staff at Furman is dedicated to providing an environment for students that supports and advances their academic performance, provides engaged learning opportunities, and encourages individual growth and development. It is our goal to provide a safe, comfortable and attractive living environment for all of our students.

Housing & Residence Life fosters the establishment of communities where individuals are respected, diversity is embraced, and students learn from one another. The Housing & Residence Life staff work closely with the faculty and staff from other offices to provide a holistic support network, providing an environment that challenges and supports growth of the mind, body and spirit for the individual, as well as the community.

At Furman University, students live on campus for all four years. Designed as a pedestrian campus, the interaction of faculty, staff and students becomes a natural process. You will frequently see students speaking with staff throughout campus or talking with faculty members over lunch in the PalaDen.
