Fall: EES 112: An Introduction to Environmental Science (which fulfills both the Empirical Study of the Natural World with lab and Humans and the Natural Environment GERs) explores the scientific consequences of human impact on the natural Earth system, including natural hazards, resource depletion, and waste disposal and pollution. 

Spring: FYW 1278: Sustainability and Society (which fulfills the first-year writing seminar graduation requirement) explores sustainability from diverse perspectives to study and understand the sustainability of social and ecological systems. Throughout the course, students will explore a wide range of global environmental topics and their interaction with human cultures and societies.
