Class of 2015
Hometown: Charlotte, N.C.
All in all, Engaged Living was just a great extra help to introduce me to the world of Furman.
I would say that first and foremost the Engaged Living program helped me to be
comfortable with the transition from high school to college. I remember being
incredibly nervous to be that far away from home for such a long time for the
first time ever, but to come here and immediately have a group of people that I
can connect with and help show me the Furman ropes was wonderful.
Engaged Living impacted my experience by exposing me to the Poverty Studies
Minor. That class was what drew me to sign up to the program and because of it,
I got to take the philosophy and poverty studies classes with Dr. Gandolfo that I
absolutely loved. All in all, Engaged Living was just a great extra help to introduce me to the world of Furman.
