The Malone Center for Career Engagement provides comprehensive career development programs and individual career counseling to assist students with (1) identifying their interests, values, and skills, (2) exploring majors and careeer opportunities, (3) gaining the skills and experiences relevant to post-graduation goals, and (4) articulating the value of their Furman experience to potential employers and graduate schools. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) is the leading source of information on the employment of the college educated, and forecasts hiring and trends in the job market; tracks starting salaries, recruiting and hiring practices, and student attitudes and outcomes; and identifies best practices and benchmarks.
The Center for Career Engagement administers the First Destinations Survey on an annual basis to collect outcomes data for each graduating class. An outstanding 93% Career Outcomes Rate of 2016 graduates were employed, accepted to graduate school, participating in a volunteer program, or serving in the miliatry within six months of graduation.
