Campus Recruiting Activities
Get engaged with Furman! Let us help you discover ways to better connect with our students and promote your organization through our employer services. Depending upon the level of involvement you would like to have, we offer the following activities:
Employers wishing to interview Furman students on campus should contact the Assistant Director for Employer Relations
to reserve an interview room on a convenient date. Employers specify their preferred interview schedule, as well as forward all relevant job posting(s) with intended resume submission deadline(s). Career Services will coordinate all related promotions, in addition to interview sign-ups and interview day logistics.
Furman utilizes Paladin Job Board (part of the NACElink system) online recruiting system to coordinate all recruiting visits. Recruiters can select from two options for their interview schedule: 1)open schedule, or 2)pre-select schedule, An open schedule is, as the name implies, open to all interested students. A schedule is set up and students simply select a guaranteed interview time through the Paladin Job Board. The pre-select schedule gives the recruiter the opportunity to review the resumes and to select those students he/she wishes to interview.
A typical interview day usually begins at 9:00 am and concludes at 5:00 pm, with lunch being scheduled from noon - 1:00pm; however, employers have the flexibility to request an interview schedule that best accommodates their specified time frame. Unless otherwise noted, interviews are scheduled every 30 minutes. Interviews are held at the Office of Career Services, Suite 209 of the Trone Student Center. Interview rooms are available to reserve free of charge.
Not sure if you can visit campus this semester? Or would you like to see resumes of interested candidates prior to setting an on-campus interviewing date? By asking us to conduct a resume collection, you can gauge the level of interest in a current or anticipated employment opportunity. You may then schedule a campus visit or arrange interviews at your convenience.
Give a presentation about your industry and promote your organization and/or current employment opportunities. Information sessions serve as a great way to brand your organization on campus even when you might not have immediate hiring needs. Information sessions can also be scheduled in conjunction with an on-campus interview day. In addition to providing a last minute opportunity fill an interview schedule, this strategy enables a recruiter to share general company information with candidates prior to actual interviews so that valuable time can be focused on the interviewees.
