You are required to take two First Year Seminars, one each semester. One of your selections must be a First Year Writing Seminar. First Year Seminars are topical and designed to develop:

  • rigorous thinking
  • effective writing habits and skills
  • responsible information use and fluency
  • active engagement in the "life of the mind"

These seminars have no more than 15 students and are designed to teach you how to engage with important issues.

At this point, you may want to take a moment to watch this short video clip about selecting your seminars or proceed to the next page for more written instructions.
