Apply for housing (Open May 13, Deadline: May 31)

Furman is a residential campus. If you are not married or planning to live at home with your parents or guardians, you are required to live on campus in university housing. Be sure to review Furman's housing options before applying. If you would like to enhance your living experience in a unique learning environment, consider Furman's Engaged Living program.

Complete our technology orientation (Deadline: June 15)

Learn about the technology resources available at Furman and get your computer ready for our campus by completing our technology orientation. You will receive a technology packet with instructions.

Take our online language placement test (Deadline: June 15)

At Furman, you're required to complete a foreign language sequence. To better assess your proficiency in French, German or Spanish, take our online language placement test. You will receive a password for this exam at the end of our technology orientation. If you've studied Latin in the past, be sure to complete our test specifically designed for that language. Placement exams for other languages, such as Chinese or Japanese, may be completed during fall orientation.

Submit a photo for your ID (Deadline: June 30)

Send us a photograph suitable for your Furman ID card and we will have it ready for you when you arrive in the fall.

Enroll in paperless billing (Deadline: July 1)

Manage your tuition bill by enrolling in paperless billing. You'll gain access to your bill more easily by signing up since Furman does not send statements in the mail. Visit the Student Business Center website to enroll.

Submit your medical/immunization records (Deadline: July 10)

Be sure to complete our three-step process to ensure we have your latest medical and immunization records. First, download our medical and immunization form as a PDF.

Once you have filled it out, use this form to complete our online form. You'll need your network username and password as well as the latest version of Internet Explorer to access this site. When you login, be sure to turn off your browser's pop-up blocker. You should be able to locate the “Medical History” and “Immunization Records” links on the left side of the page. Click each of these and complete the required forms.

Finally, bring a hard copy of your forms to summer orientation. You will turn them into Health Services. If you are not able to bring them to orientation, you can mail your forms to:

Submit your test scores:

Hoping to replace an introductory course with your Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) test score? Find out if you scored high enough to earn credit.

If you did not designate Furman as your score recipient when you took the AP exam, be sure to arrange for your scores to be sent directly to us. Find out how at www.collegeboard.com. Be aware that the College Board charges a fee for this service. The College Board code for Furman University is 5222.

To send us your IB scores, you can request score reports through e-mail at transcripts.ibna@ibo.org. Learn more at www.ibo.org.

Register your vehicle (Open July 1)

Complete Furman's vehicle registration or waiver process to register your vehicle and obtain a parking decal. Even if you're not planning to bring a vehicle, you must submit this form to avoid paying parking fees.

Make your first tuition payment (Deadline: August 15)

Take the final step to becoming a Paladin by paying your tuition for the fall semester. Learn about all of your payment options.

Complete the alcohol education program:

We have joined a number of the nation's top schools in offering AlcoholEdu for College as a component of our alcohol and sexual assault prevention initiative. Whether you abstain from alcohol or not, this program will help you make well-informed decisions about alcohol. Be sure to complete this online alcohol education program.

Review the student handbook:

Learn about Furman's code of conduct, procedures and policies by reviewing the student handbook.

Review your financial aid awards:

Be sure to review your financial aid so that you understand what is offered and what you will owe upon graduation. You can view your award package by clicking "MyFurman: Accept/Reject Financial Aid Award" in the navigation menu of our financial aid site.

Attend Fall Orientation:

Furman offers a hybrid approach to acclimating students to academics and college life—Summer Orientation and Fall Orientation. Our students are required to attend Fall Orientation. Attend orientation.
