Student Payroll Information
Verifying Employment Eligibility
Before you can be hired for an on-campus job, you will need to fill out employment forms in the Student Employment Office located in Financial Aid Office. You will need to present two forms of identification as indicated on the back of Form I9. Commonly accepted forms of ID include: a social security card, a birth certificate or a passport; along with a driver’s license or school ID.
Pay Day
Students are paid via online time cards on a bi-weekly basis according to the student payroll schedule which is provided to students upon employment. Student payments are deposited directly into the student’s bank account.
Direct Deposit
In accordance with Furman University’s sustainability policy to maintain a “green” campus, all employees are directed to sign up for direct deposit. Therefore, please bring with you a blank check from your checking account or a deposit slip from your saving account so that direct deposit can be activated. Please write the word, “VOID” across the front of the document. We cannot accept a deposit slip for your checking account. If you do not have any checks for your account, please call your bank and ask for their routing number and your account number then write this information on the direct deposit form. FYI: Your account number is not the number on your ATM/Credit card.
Online Student Time Cards
Once you begin working, you will enter your time worked online through the MyFurman portal. Your supervisor will show you how to use the system or contact the Student Employment Office.
Off-Campus Jobs
Part-time off campus jobs are posted twice weekly when they are available. Although part-time off campus jobs are posted for students, the Student Employment Office acts only as a referral service, therefore, you are urged to take responsibility for your own safety, wages, working conditions and all other aspects of off-campus employment.
