Giving
Furman parents are the cornerstone of giving, offering opportunities for our future students to experience the life changing four years that their children enjoyed.
You can provide a gift and carry on the Furman traditions of academic excellence, holistic but practical liberal arts, and a community-minded and community-building environment for all.
Parents play an instrumental role in giving at Furman because they have seen the impact of Furman in their child’s life. They recognize the opportunity to appreciate the value of their son or daughter’s degree by providing funds that enhance the university, but also believe in the chance to support the journey towards a Furman degree for future students around the world.

The Parents Council comprises 45 Furman couples representing the 2700 students on campus. All Parent Council members volunteer their time and offer financial support to bolster the university and to serve as a sounding board for parental opinion, ideas and concerns.

The Parents Fund is an integral portion of Furman’s fundraising efforts. Each year, Furman parents raise over $1 million to support current operating needs of the university. The 2011-2012 fiscal year was the most successful fundraising year ever for Furman parents. This significant impact proves that Furman parents know the value of the Paladin experience and hope to share it with generations to come.
