Its distinctive identity must be communicated and affirmed to all who come in contact with the university. The first impression of Furman for many people occurs through printed materials such as letters, publications, signage or electronic technology. To be effective, the university's visual materials must present an image that is clear, consistent and easily remembered. To ensure that the university projects an image of quality consonant with its character and that all university communications state clearly where they are from and what they are about, Furman utilizes a visual identity program.
