Community Relations
The Office of Community Relations helps serve as a liaison between Furman University
and the Greenville Community. The staff works to build partnerships with local,
state and federal government officials, human service agencies, health organizations,
schools, neighborhood organizations, corporations, the faith community, business
associations, arts organizations and other entities striving to increase the
quality of life for Furman and the entire community. We believe in the power
of collaboration. We believe in diverse engaged learning opportunities for our
students. We believe in the power of service learning. Furman University has
a strong commitment to the community. Students, faculty and staff routinely
perform diverse service efforts, clearly demonstrating a culture here that values
giving back. In truth, it is as much about giving forward with the intent that
it will make a difference in both the future of the people for this community
as well as the world. We want to bring our resources to the table of community
problem solving and asset building. Do you have an idea you want to discuss
with Furman University? Contact
Chandra Dillard if you are interested in discussing
a partnership possibility. We look forward to talking with you about new ways
to help make this community stronger.
