During summer, First Class mail, USPS packages and magazines are forwarded to you unless you let us know you will be on campus. If you will be on campus, we will put your mail in your box.
If you will be on foreign study or away from campus for other reasons during the academic year, let us know. We will forward your mail to your home address.
At the end of the academic year, please access the on-line address information form, print a copy, fill in the appropriate information, and return to us so we know how you want your mail handled. Mail is not forwarded during holiday breaks. Federal Express and UPS packages cannot be forwarded. They must be returned to the sender.
Graduating, transferring or withdrawing? Magazines will be forwarded through June 30. First class mail and packages shipped via USPS will be forwarded through July 30. Federal Express and UPS packages cannot be forwarded. They are returned to the sender if the student is not on campus.
Six (6) weeks prior to permanently leaving Furman, you should file a change of address with all organizations mailing to you.
Please return your mail box key ONLY TO THE POST OFFICE. If the post office is not open, write your name and box number on an envelope, seal the key inside and drop the envelope in the campus mail box.
Do not leave your key with any department or person not associated with the Furman Post Office. If your key is not returned to the post office, you will be required to pay the $15 replacement fee. Normally, this will be handled as a deduction from your deposit. If funds are not available from your deposit, then a hold will be placed on your academic records transcript until the key is returned or the $15 fee is received.
