Develop Your Own Internship
Students should begin looking for summer internships between November and February.
If you find an organization you want to pursue but no internships are listed, you can consider developing one.
Developing an internship takes some time, so you should being the process in late Fall or by January at the latest.
Furman students have been successful in developing internships by talking with contacts found through Furman connections or LinkedIn: Furman alumni, parents, family friends, volunteer coordinators, professors at other institutions
etc. and working with them to develop an internship project.
The Internship Office can assist you preparing a plan to make these contacts and successfully communicate your learning objectives.
