The Furman Advantage Program
fellowships to students who obtain full-time summer internships that meet the program criteria and have an academic component directly related to their major or career goals.
The Furman Advantage Program funding supports students in all majors in summer internships throughout the nation and the world.
Application to the Advantage Program:
Students who want to be considered for the Advantage Program should complete at least the student section of the application by the deadline, even if the internship is not finalized by the deadline date (on March 1
The Furman Advantage application
is posted each December for the following summer.
The internship's academic component will be evaluated based on the value of the internship and
the content of the Furman Advantage application
which asks the student and the internship site sponsor to describe:
- the opportunity the internship provides in applying academic studies to the work experience
- the evidence that the internship will result in a meaningful experience in which the intern is involved in significant professional work
