Annual Report, 2003-2004

During the 2003-2004 academic year, the Research and Professional Growth Committee met three times (12 November, 2003, 20 January, 2004 and 23 April, 2004) to consider solicited research proposals and sabbatical leave applications. During the first round of research proposal considerations for projects covering fall 2003 and winter 2004, nine faculty members were awarded $10,076.04. During the second round of research proposal considerations covering spring and summer 2004, ten faculty members were awarded $10,398. About $20,000 funds were available to be disbursed.

During its winter 2004 meeting, the RPG Committee recommended approval of 23 sabbatical leave applications. They were distributed as: 4 full year, 3 half year fall 2004-winter 2005, 15 half year winter-spring 2005, and one fall 2004-spring 2005 sabbaticals.

The RPG Committee also discussed the implementation of submitting proposals and post-project reports electronically.  Dr. Kevin Treu will work on this project with the RPG chairs of 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 this summer.
