Research and Professional Growth Committee
Annual Report, 2002-2003

During the 2002-2003 academic year, the Research and Professional Growth Committee met three times (15 November, 2002, 31 January, 2003 and 30 April, 2003) to consider solicited research proposals and sabbatical leave applications. During the first round of research proposal considerations for projects covering fall 2002 and winter 2003, seven faculty members were awarded $6415. During the second round of research proposal considerations covering spring and summer 2003, eleven faculty members were awarded $8585. About $15,000 funds were available to be disbursed.

During its winter 2003 meeting, the RPG Committee recommended approval of 27 sabbatical leave applications. They were distributed as: 8 full year, 7 half year fall 2003-winter 2004, and 12 half year winter-spring 2004 sabbaticals.
