Present: DeJong (chair), Gabbert (recorder), Pierce, Horney, Byrnes, Delancey, Lewis

Minutes from 3/18/09 were provided and approved.

Updates from L. DeJong:
- 071.8 Information Technology Advisory Council is ready to send to the faculty in the April meeting.
- 168.1 Sabbatical Leaves is ready to send to the faculty in the April meeting and will sit for 30 days. It was suggested that the May Experience policies clarify that a May Experience course can be used to balance sabbatical leave OR be compensated with course release but not both.

File 111.9 Director of Financial Aid
There was some discussion about the appropriateness of the Awards and Financial Aid Committee in the policy, and it was decided that the use of this committee to approve guidelines was appropriate given that Kazee indicated an interest in getting faculty involved in determining Financial Aid guidelines. Some minor editing changes were suggested. The rationale statement was modified to clarify the Awards and Financial Aid Committee. The policy will be brought to the faculty in the April meeting.

File 100.0 Faculty Security
The policy will be brought to the faculty in the April meeting.

File 188.1 Faculty Salary Distributions
This policy will be brought to the faculty in the April meeting. It was suggested that 819.2 be reviewed to make sure it lists the correct holidays.

File 152.2 Evaluation of Faculty
The policy statement was modified to clarify the use of the term faculty to mean tenured and probationary faculty. DeJong will show the changes to Status. This policy will be brought to the faculty in the April meeting and will sit for 30 days.

File 131.5 Due Process
The definition of term appointments was moved to a guideline. The guideline references were removed from the policy statement. This policy will be discussed in the next meeting.
