Minutes: Policies and Procedures Committee
Tuesday, February 24

Present: DeJong (chair), Gabbert (recorder), Horney, Pierce, Byrnes, Delancey, Lewis, Chesebro
Minutes from 2/18/09 were provided and approved.

Updates from L. DeJong:
- File 111.9 Director of Financial Aid is still being reviewed by T. Kazee and will be reviewed by P&P at the next meeting.

File 147.9 Academic Regalia
Status prepared another version of the policy and has decided to present additional changes to the faculty on the floor. The P&P committee decided not to review the policy at this time and will suggest to Status that the policy changes should be done according to File 100.1.

File 100.0 Faculty Security
Policy changes were collated from last year’s proposed changes and the changes proposed from the review this year. The policy will be reviewed by Administration and brought to the faculty in April.

File 228.1 Tuition Benefits for Faculty and Staff
Policy changes were collated from several prior drafts including one found done several years ago but never brought to the faculty. Additional changes were suggested so that “full time” could be removed from the definition of faculty and staff. Work will continue on the policy after the meeting and changes will be distributed to the committee via email.

The next meeting of the Policies and Procedures Committee will be March 18th at 3:30 pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Paula Gabbert, Recorder
Policies and Procedures Committee
