Minutes: Policies and Procedures Committee
Wednesday, February 18

Present: DeJong (chair), Gabbert (recorder), Horney, Pierce, Byrnes, Delancey, Lewis, Chesebro
Minutes from 2/3/09 were provided and approved as ammended.

Updates from L. DeJong:
- File 228.1 Tuition Benefit policy was returned to committee from the faculty. Another draft has been developed incorporating several suggestions and prior drafts. It will be reviewed by Status and sent to P&P Committee and reviewed at the next meeting.
- File 111.9 Director of Financial Aid is being reviewed by T. Kazee and will be reviewed by P&P at the next meeting.
- File 147.9 Academic Regalia- additional changes were sent from Status. Several suggestions were made to improve the policy statement and Guideline 3. It will be sent back to Status.
- File 148.1 Salary Continuation at Death was brought to the faculty on 2/2 and will be voted on at
the next faculty meeting.

File 111.1 Division of Continuing Ed
The policy will be brought to the faculty at the next meeting.

File 111.11 Director of Continuing Ed
Some additional grammar errors were fixed. The policy will be brought to the faculty at the next meeting.

File 144.2 Social Security
Changes are minor and the policy will not go to faculty.

File 157.91 Retirement
Changes from last meeting were made to the policy. Changes were minor and the policy will not go to faculty.

File 111.3 Chaplain’s Office
Changes are minor and the policy will not go to faculty.

File 196.2 Meritorious Advising Award
Pierce will check on the date in Guideline 4 and will confirm title change with Beckford.

File 071.1 Computing and Information Services
Changes are minor and the policy will not go to faculty.

File 315.1 Long Distance Telephone Calls
Changes are minor and the policy will not go to faculty.

File 071.8 Information Technology Advisory Council
Policy will be put on the conference and will be discussed at the next meeting.

The next meeting of the Policies and Procedures Committee will be February 24th at 8:30am. The primary purpose of the meeting is to review File 228.1 if Status has finished with it.
