Minutes: Policies and Procedures Committee

Minutes from 3/24/09 were provided and approved.
Updates from L. DeJong:
- Policies to be sent to faculty in April were summarized.
- Waiting for additional information from Beckford and Kazee for Policy 131.5.
File 128.5 Tests and Other Written Work
This policy was up for review this year. Minor editing changes were made and the policy will simply be updated as reviewed for currency this year.
File 106.0 Intellectual Property Policy
The policy draft from the ad hoc committee was reviewed and will be brought to the faculty in April.
File 190.5 APC Operating Procedures
The main change to the policy is to let APC present their reports to the faculty. A few minor edits were made, and the policy will be brought to the faculty in April.
File 190.1 Curriculum Committee Operating Procedures
Several minor edits were made. The policy will be brought to the faculty in April.
File 228.1 Tuition Benefits for Faculty and Staff
There was some discussion about the changes that are necessary to the current draft referring to the use of the term full-time faculty. Work will continue on the policy and it will be reviewed at the next meeting.
File 147.9 Academic Regalia
Another draft was provided by Status. It will be reviewed if time permits at the next meeting.
File 107.4 Students with Disabilities
Important changes were made by Linda Bartlett to ensure compliance with new laws. The updates are required by April 30th. The changes will be considered at the next meeting.
The next meeting of the Policies and Procedures Committee will be April 7 at 8:30am.
