Nominating Committee
Annual Report
2011-2012
The Nominating Committee met twice and conducted much of its business electronically during the 2011-2012 academic year.
At the August and September faculty meetings, the committee proposed a number of replacement candidates for faculty and student representatives who were, for a variety of reasons, unable to serve during the academic year in the capacities for which they were originally nominated.
The primary task of this committee is to nominate faculty officers and to populate faculty standing committees. To this end, we nominated candidates for the offices of Faculty Vice-Chair and Recorder. In addition, the committee nominated 122 faculty members for service on 19 faculty standing committees, as well as for slots on the Graduate Council and the Traffic Board. A total of 51 of these 122 positions were new candidates; the committee also nominated 16 new Chairs.
Given that changes in Student Government Association administrations occur late in the Spring term, student nominees for standing faculty committees will be forwarded to the Faculty for their consideration at the September faculty meeting.
Respectfully submitted by the 2011-2012 Nominating Committee:
Ken Abernethy (CSC) Terri Bright (ART), Mary Fairbairn (LIB), Hugh Floyd (MUS), Erin Hahn, Chair (PSY), and Lisa Knight (REL).
