Nominating Committee
Annual Report, 2004-2005

During the 2004-2005 academic year the Nominating Committee met three times to consider appointments for next year’s standing faculty committees.  The committee began its work in the fall with a round of replacements necessitated by summer vacancies.  In addition to the three meetings, the committee has conducted a great deal of business via email as we have adjusted this year’s appointments.  Due to retirements, sabbaticals, ordinary departures from committees after 3 year’s service, foreign study, and a number of special circumstances, we made a total of 42 changes in this year’s slate, which is set to be voted on at the May faculty meeting.

The chair gratefully acknowledges the diligence of the committee members, whose expertise and sensitivity made our work possible.

Maurice Cherry, Modern Languages
Don Gordon, Political Science
Marian Strobel, History
Suzy Summers, Economics and Business Administration
John Wheeler, Chemistry

Respectfully submitted,
Jay Oney, Chair
