Annual Report 2011-12

The FYS Oversight Committee met frequently over the course of the school year. The committee’s activities include the following:
- Approval of twenty-four faculty requests for funds
- Endorsement of twenty-three proposals for FYS or FYW courses
- Program assessment, including discussion of student opinion surveys and research into freshman
writing
- Planning of two social events for FYS faculty, allowing faculty to discuss courses and best practices
- Workshops in summer 2011 for faculty planning FYS/W courses (with more planned for summer
2012).
