Faculty Status Committee
Annual Report, 2002-2003
To date, the Faculty Status Committee has met 22 times during the 2002-2003 academic session regarding the following business:
1 - evaluation of 44 probationary faculty and recommendation to the Dean and the President a merit category for each faculty member
2 - review of 10 candidates applying for tenure and 22 candidates applying for promotion and recommendation to the Dean and the President regarding each application
3 - recommendation to the Dean and the President concerning distribution of salary pool increase among the various merit categories
4 - recommendation to the Dean and the President regarding emeritus status for retiring professors
5 - revision of the Faculty Evaluation Form for 2003 and accompanying memoranda
6 - one faculty appeal
7 - recommendation of revisions to 16 files from the Policies and Procedures Manual
8 - review and editing of numerous FSC policies.
9 - recommendation to the Dean to remove the sentence “Please remember that your salary is a confidential matter between you and the University” from the annual contract renewal letter
