Faculty Administration Liaison Committee
Annual Report, 2006-2007

The Faculty Administration Liaison Committee (FALC) met once during the year.

The Committee addressed three issues:

1. Concerns about faculty input on the creation of and criteria for the Hollingsworth scholars program. That report was presented at the November 2006 faculty meeting.

2. Sabbatical leave. FALC inquired about the progress of two recommendations it had made previously regarding sabbatical leave: competitive funding for some full-year sabbaticals and adjusting the course load for those taking a half-year sabbatical so that they really are teaching only half of their courses during a sabbatical year or at least over a two-sabbatical cycle, instead of 60 % of their course load. Policies and Procedures sent the issue to Faculty Status. FALC will want to follow up on this with Faculty Status.

3. Faculty concerns that Greek housing on campus was being considered. While there are no immediate plans for this, FALC requested that the Dean and Housing solicit faculty input on this issue should it arise in the future.

Respectfully submitted,
