Curriculum Committee
Annual Report for 2012-13

The Curriculum Committee met twelve times during the 2012 – 2013 academic year. All course proposals were discussed at meetings, although some details were later finalized via email.

The committee endorsed 62 course proposals: 47 catalog courses (including 17 May Experience courses) and 15 First Year Seminar courses. In addition, the committee endorsed a proposal from the First Year Seminar Committee for revising the form for proposing new First Year Seminar courses.

The chair thanks Curriculum Committee members for their careful reading of all the course proposals, their thoughtful deliberations, and their recommendations for improving numerous proposals: Bill Aarnes, Laura Baker, Michael Brodeur, Paula Gabbert, Kirk Karwan, David Redburn, Ahmad Dbouk, and Daniel Smith. In addition, the committee thanks Jenny Colvin and Brad Barron for their much needed, and much appreciated, assistance.

Respectfully submitted,
Dan Sloughter
Chair
