Appeals Committee
Annual Report 2012-13



The Appeals Committee has met nine times during the year, once per month from August 2012 to April 2013. 50 appeals of academic regulations were reviewed. A total of 34 appeals were approved, 16 were denied. Our next meeting will happen on Friday May 3.

20 appeals were related to foreign language accommodations - 19 were approved, 1 denied.

14 appeals were related to academic suspension or dismissal. 7 were approved and 7 were denied.

6 appeals were related to general education requirements. 3 were approved and 3 were denied.

2 appeals were related to the 28-hour rule. 1 was approved and 1 was denied. 2 appeals requested retroactive withdrawal from courses. 1 was approved and 1was denied.

2 appeals were related to credit hour graduation requirements. Both were approved.

1 appeal requested pass/fail within major and it was denied.

1 appeal related to transfer credit and it was denied.

1 appeal was related to dual enrollment – it was approved.

1 appeal was related to the science requirement for the B.S. degree. It was denied.
