Annual Report, 2011-2012
The Appeals Committee met ten times during the year, once per month from August
2011 to April 2012. Thirty-nine appeals of academic regulations were reviewed. A total
of 30 appeals were approved, eight were denied, and one was tabled (but was denied after

Two appeals were related to dual enrollment – both were approved.
One appeal requested Natural World with Laboratory (NWL) credit for courses
transferred to Furman – it was approved.
The Appeals Committee will meet two more times before Fall term: May 4 (prior to
commencement) and June 1.
A log of all 2011-12 appeal results has been maintained by the Chairperson of this
Committee and by the Associate Academic Dean.
