Appeals Committee
Annual Report, 2008-2009
The Appeals Committee met eight times throughout the fall and spring semesters and reviewed appeals for exceptions to academic regulations from forty one individuals. The appeals of three other students were reviewed by electronic mail. Thirty seven appeals were approved and seven were denied.
The academic regulations that were appealed varied. Five related to academic suspension; four to the language requirement; two to the 64 hour rule; five to the 28 hour rule; four to the pass fail option; seventeen for general education requirement substitutions; one to waive a general education requirement; five requests for retroactive withdrawals from courses; and, one request for a retroactive grade change.
The chair would like to express appreciation to members of the 2008-2009 Appeals Committee for their most thorough and thoughtful consideration of each appeal.
