Bill Pierce


Bill Pierce, professor and chair of the Health Sciences Department, not only competes in marathons but conducts research and writes about marathoning as well. The former collegiate basketball player and half-miler has completed over 30 marathons since 1977. His research and publications focus on how aging and pacing affect marathon running performance.







Ray Moss


Ray Moss professor of Health Sciences, is the director of the Molnar Human Performance Laboratory. Moss has developed a highly sophisticated computerized system for assessing the physiological measures that are the key factors in running performance. A former student of world-renowned physiologist and running coach, Jack Daniels, Ray employs many of Daniels' testing techniques and procedures.









Scott Murr

 
Scott Murr is a member of the Health Sciences Department faculty at Furman University. A competitive endurance athlete who has competed in numerous marathons, duathlons, and triathlons, Scott is an eleven-time Ironman Triathlon finisher.



 




Mickey McCauley


Mickey McCauley attended Furman University and was a member of the Track and Field and Cross Country programs. He is a certified personal trainer by the American Council of Exercise and a Level II USA Track and Field certified coach. Mickey is a Fitness Specialist with the Furman University Fitness Center and has been running more than 25 years.
