Please remember that, due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), higher education officials are limited in what we can share about students with parents. Further, we believe that open communication between the parent and the student is of utmost importance in all matters related to the student's financial aid. Thus, we always encourage students to share information with their parents.

Our Staff
Diane Long - Financial Aid Coordinator
Upon your first entrance to the Office of Financial Aid, Diane will typically be your first point of contact with our office. Diane has been our financial aid coordinator since 2006, and she possesses much of the information needed to answer any general financial aid questions. She is also responsible for mass communication with students, usually via their Furman email accounts.
Jasmine Taylor - Financial Aid Counselor
As a recent graduate, Jasmine is currently transitioning from a student at Furman to a financial aid counselor. She provides assistance for any financial-aid related questions or concerns, and as a liaison to the Office of Admissions, she works closely with prospective students and their parents. Jasmine is also responsible for managing the state grant programs and maintaining contact with students through various social media networks.
Rhonda Nelson - Financial Aid Counselor
Since November of 2006, Rhonda has worked in various capacities in our office. She currently coordinates the Federal Direct Loan Program as well as certification of alternative student loans. She enjoys working with students and families and is an integral part of our office.
Yvonne Williams - Student Employment Coordinator
The newest member of the Financial Aid Office, Yvonne manages student employment opportunities at Furman. She is responsible for the Federal Work-Study program, the Job Location and Development program, and the America Reads/America Counts Tutoring program. Yvonne has worked in Student Employment for twelve years.
Andrea has been in our office since March of 2007, and she is part of the senior managment structure of our office. Andrea supervises our two financial aid counselors, the financial aid coordinator, and our student workers. Additionally, Andrea awards students, works with students and parents, and is the liaison to both Furman's graduate and Furman's evening studies programs.
Anne Smith - Associate Director of Financial Aid for Compliance and Student Employment
Having worked in both admission and financial aid, Anne has been in the field of higher education for over 30 years and has been at Furman for almost 17 years. A part of the senior management structure of our office, Anne supervises our student employment coordinator. Her wide range of knowledge and experience helps in advising and counseling students and families. Anne also works closely with our endowed scholarship program, ensuring open lines of communication between Furman's Office of Donor Relations and Office of Financial Aid.
Forrest M. Stuart - Associate Vice President for Financial Aid
Forrest is one of the senior administrators at Furman University, reporting directly to the president. He is charged with the overall responsibilities of ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, developing institutional aid policies, maintaining an institutional aid budget of over $43 million, and strategic planning for enrollment and financial aid. Prior to joining Furman as director in August 2008, Forrest served as director of financial aid at Rhodes College for 8 years, and worked in both admission and financial aid at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama for 11 years.
