The creation of the Staff Advisory Council (Staff AC) came about because of input from the staff survey conducted in the fall of 1998. The council is a permanent council made up of staff representing all major areas of the university. Its original focus was to establish and enhance communications between the staff and administration. The council meets once a month to convey staff questions and concerns as well as make recommendations for improvements.

Staff Advisory Council MIssion Statement

Staff AC’s mission is to be an effective “voice of the staff” with the following priorities:

  • To increase communication between staff and the administration
  • To enhance staff morale
  • To promote a sense of campus community
  • To increase levels of awareness and understanding

Membership

Members serve three-year terms and may serve up to two consecutive terms before taking a break from the council. Staff AC members volunteer their time with approval from their immediate supervisors. Nominations are submitted and campus-wide elections are held to replace members as they roll off the council.

Staff members who are interested in being a member of this council should submit their names using the Membership Form or contact a council member for more details. Nominations for membership are also encouraged.

STAFF ADVISORY COUNCIL BYLAWS

The Staff Advisory Council Bylaws are reviewed annually.
