The Staff Advisory Committee was created as a result of input from the staff survey conducted in the fall of 1998, and is a permanent committee made up of staff representing all major areas of the university. The main focus was to establish and enhance communications between the staff and administration. This committee meets monthly during an extended lunch session and conveys staff questions and concerns as well as recommends improvements. Staff members who are interested in being a member of this committee should submit their names using the Membership Form or contact a committee member for more details. Nominations for membership are also encouraged.
Staff Advisory Committee Mission Statement
Established in 1998, the Staff Advisory Committee (StaffAC) is an advisory group of Furman employees representing all major areas of the university. Employees who do not serve on the faculty are eligible for membership. Members serve two year terms and may serve up to two consecutive terms before taking a break from the committee. StaffAC members volunteer their time with approval from their immediate supervisors.
StaffAC's mission is to be an effective "voice of the staff" with the following priorities:
- To increase communication between staff and the administration
- To enhance staff morale
- To promote a sense of campus community
- To increase levels of awareness and understanding
