What to expect

For Parents Furman University
  • When you call or email the Learning Lab, a researcher will get some basic information about you and your child (age, contact information, etc.).
  • The researcher will schedule an appointment for a time that is convenient for you to come into the Furman Learning Lab.
  • The day before your appointment, we will call (or email you, if you prefer) to remind you about your appointment and answer any questions you have before your visit.
  • When you arrive for your visit, a researcher will meet you in the parking lot and walk with you to the lab.
  • During the visit, you will either be with your child or will view and hear your child on a live-feed video monitor from a nearby room.
  • Afterwards, your child will get a small gift and a certificate of achievement, and the researcher will walk you back to the admissions parking lot.
