Welcome to the Furman Learning Lab
The Learning Lab was established and is directed by Dr. Erin Hahn of the psychology department at Furman University. We are interested in the ways in which children learn about the world around them.
We study the development of language and cognition. In the first years of life, infants experience a period of extraordinary growth. Dr. Hahn says that at five-years old, “a child can learn four to five languages effortlessly.” We are interested in the mechanisms through which this incredible transformation happens.
We also study learning, memory, the impact of social influence, and much more.
We conduct studies with infants, children, and adolescents in our main laboratory located at Furman University.
