How to share your freedom story on video

  1. Record your video on camera with digital upload. Webcams, phone cameras, portable recorders will work great for this purpose.
  2. Follow your device’s instructions to upload your video as a file on to a computer with web access.
  3. Post your video to a sharing site. YouTube or Vimeo are good for this. Use the tag “Freedom Stories” in your description.
  4. Send us the link to your video, and we will share it as part of our collection!

Style guidelines for videos

We accept videos of all styles, but if you are unsure how to start, video blogs and recorded interviews are a good start.

A video blog is best if you would like to tell the story yourself. A video blog is an open ended telling of your story directly into a camera. Webcams are an easy way to make video blogs, but you could also have a friend record you with another kind or use the inverted camera feature on iPhone.

A recorded interview is best for capturing a story that is told between two people. You may want to conduct a traditional interview and use a third person to record the conversation. Alternately, the person conducting the interview could take video of just the storyteller answering questions. See a sample list of interview questions.
