New Student Technology Orientation
Welcome to an exciting time of your life, and to many opportunities to explore and use technology in creative and remarkable ways. This information will introduce you to some of the technological resources to which you will have access while at Furman, and should answer some of your questions about computing at Furman University.
If you have received your technology letter from Computing and Information Services, you are ready to begin the orientation and computer certification process. Letters are being mailed in early May. If you have not received your letter by the third week of May, please contact the Help Desk (864)294-3277.
- Mandatory On-line New Student Technology Orientation
Start the process by taking the mandatory online technology orientation, take it now, it will only take a few minutes of your time. In order to begin the technology orientation, you will need to supply your last name and your orientation ID. This information can be found in the letter CIS mailed to your home in early May. If you have not received your letter by the third week in May or if you have misplaced your letter, please contact the Help Desk at (864)294-3277 to have another copy sent. For security reasons, we cannot send this information to a non-Furman email account or give this information out over the phone.

If your computer is running Microsoft Windows, you must complete all the steps below. If your computer is running Macintosh OS X, you must complete steps four through six.
