Greetings to the Women of Furman
Greeting to all women of the Furman University community! The Executive Committee of The Furman Link has planned for you a number of exciting, educational and fun-filled activities and events for this year! The first event is the Casual Coffee, which will be held at The Garden Room on September 22, at 10:00. You are invited! The Executive Committee, the Events Coordinators and the Interest group leaders will be introduced to you so that you may better associate faces with names and leadership responsibilities and learn more about planned activities. Please come and let us meet you. Bring a friend or a newcomer! Plan to enjoy seeing old friends and meeting new ones in a casual and friendly environment.
In additional to its focus of building community through social and educational offerings, The Furman Link has a service dimension. As the economy continues to weaken, more and more people are in need. Beneficiaries have been selected this year from a review of local organizations that provide help to those in need. Goods and funds collected at specific events are donated to the beneficiaries to support their work.
The Link Letter also provides the service of advertising notable volunteer opportunities in the community such as the Book Buddy Program, described in this newsletter.
Enclosed is a membership form. Please complete it, return it ASAP and plan to participate in the quality offerings of The Furman Link this year as much as your interest and schedule will allow!
