Get outdoors
From the Blue Ridge Mountains in the upstate to the breathtaking beaches along the coastline, South Carolina is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Want to explore it? Our campus is the perfect starting point.
At Furman, you're a short distance from world-class rapids, biking and hiking trails and some of the best state parks in South Carolina. In fact, Paris Mountain State Park is practically in our backyard. You can take a trip there after an afternoon class and make it back to your residence hall in time for dinner.
On weekends, you have the option to join our outdoor club on a camping trip, or head down to the Carolina beaches, just a few hours away. Either way, there's a journey waiting for you.
Want to find other students who love the outdoors? Join the Furman University Outdoor Club.
