Founded in 1998, the Furman Rugby Club is among the top small-college rugby programs in the nation. The Paladins have captured three national small college  championships and have been runner up twice.
The program has also collected five South championships.  Over the past five years, the team has compiled a 67-20 record.  Founded and coached by John Roberts, the Paladins are known for their well-drilled, passionate play and sportsmanship. Furman plays in a dedicated rugby stadium on a field named in honor of their coach.
