Meet Corey
I love tailgating before football games. We have a great tradition of dressing up for the games, almost like it's a formal event. We'll then listen to live music and grill with our friends. It's a great way to enjoy the nice weather and show off your school spirit.
Best of list
Ramsey Parlor. It's a nice change of pace from the library. I lived in Lakeside this past year. So, if it was cold or raining, it was nice to go there and not have to walk to the library.
Downtown. There's a great music scene here. Every spring and summer, Main Street is packed at night with bands performing in the middle of the street. Greenville also does a good job of bringing artists to the Bi-Lo Center and the Peace Center. It's a musically rich location.
Time management. I just learned that making a schedule and a to-do list every day has been key for me.
U.S. Public Address: Dr. Sean O'Rourke is by far my favorite professor here. He is very intelligent and has a lot to say about the subjects that he covers.
The bell tower kiss. Basically, if two people kiss underneath the bell tower, they'll get married. It's funny we have a tradition like that. I don't know many people who have done it. That tradition might keep people away from the bell tower.
Einstein Bagels, especially late at night. When you're up late working on a paper, which you're inevitably going to do at least once in college, it's nice to have that place you can go and get your second wind.
Helpful Tips
Explore different classes and figure out what interests you the most.
Prioritize and stay focused. Find a place that will keep you away from distractions.
Try out several different organizations, and then find the ones you are most passionate about. Get involved!
The city of Greenville. You can't get a grasp of what a great town it is until you visit.
Get to know as many people on your hall as you can. And take advantage of all the living opportunities. We have a lot of really cool options like the eco-village and the language houses. Each type of housing has a lot of different social opportunities.
