What Now? Steps After Acceptance
You’ve joined an elite group of students who have been accepted to Furman. Now what?
Make Your Decision—You have a lot of choices, but this is the key one to make.
Want some help?
Send Your Deposit—You’ll
need to submit your $400 enrollment deposit to secure your space in the
new student class. Think of it as an investment: you’ll get it back
(less any fees owed to Furman) once you’ve graduated.
Plan Your Finances—Don’t
miss out on a single opportunity for scholarships and financial aid. If
you’re applying for student loans, you’ll need to complete the official
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and if you would like
to be considered for scholarships, you’ll also need to fill out
Furman’s Application for Financial Aid and Scholarships. Head over to
Financial Aid for details and to download the necessary forms.
New Student Homepage
-"
NEW AT FU"
is a new website dedicated to help you find out anything and everything
about being a student here at Furman once you've made the decision to
join us, but before you get to campus. The site covers what you will
need to know, what you need to do, what your family will need to know,
how to get involved, and news, tips, and highlights relevant for any
new student. Roommate assignment, course selection, meal plan details,
and information about access to the university's computing networks are
some of the important items that will be addressed through the site, so
it is vital that you check here early and often.
Relax—The
summer before college is a magical time unencumbered by the
responsibilities which will soon come your way. Enjoy it. Furman opens
a new chapter in your life. You’re going to do new things, make new
friends, try new experiences and grow as a person. Change can be a
little intimidating, but if you open yourself up to the possibilities,
you’ll be amazed at what can happen.
