In almost every student’s higher education journey, difficulties understanding a subject occur. Sometimes a few questions in class solve the problem. Other times, we need a little extra help to succeed. For moments like these, Furman UES offers Smarthinking, the nation’s top-ranked online tutoring service.  Access is conveniently available to UES students 24/7 by visiting their course’s website in Moodle.

Furman’s Center for Academic Success (CAS) can help you succeed in the classroom with in-person tutoring, study tips and resources.  The CAS staff provides academic support and counseling related to study skills, time management, and other academic success strategies. Peer tutors and Writing & Media Lab consultants provide student-to-student support in all academic disciplines.

As an adult student, there are times when conflicts arise with exam dates and other important obligations. To make Furman Evening Studies as convenient as possible, ProctorU gives UES students the ability to take an exam online at their own time. As long as it is not the final exam, students may utilize ProctorU by providing their professor with two weeks advance notice. This service is free of charge to UES students, so long as their proctoring appointment is made at least 72 hours in advance of their requested test time.
