Our academic programs are structured for working adults who want to finish their undergraduate degree, or earn a post-baccalaureate certificate without putting their career on hold. Courses are available after typical business hours for your convenience.

program length

The length of our Undergraduate Evening Studies program varies between individuals, depending on your previous coursework. To earn your bachelor's degree, you must successfully earn 125 credits with at least 45 credits (including the final 28 credits and 15 in the major) earned at Furman. Each course is worth three credits.

Our post-baccalaureate certificate programs are customized to meet your individual needs. For example, if you need one or two courses to sit for the CPA exam, you are not required to complete the full sequence of courses offered in our CPA preparation program.

ACADEMIC SCHEDULE

We offer opportunities for enrollment in the fall, spring or summer semester. During the term, classes meet one night per week from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., though some courses may be offered on the weekend. Many of our students choose to take two courses per semester.

COURSE FORMAT

Classes are engaging and discussion-driven, relying on case studies and real-world examples to study today's most important business concepts. Each course has its own set of requirements, activities and learning objectives. Generally, students are expected to read prior to class, complete written papers, collaborate on group projects, participate in class discussions, and prepare for quizzes and exams. A syllabus for each course is typically available prior to registration so you can evaluate course expectations.
