Update on UES program and admissions
Furman University is conducting a review and assessment of its Undergraduate Evening Studies (UES) program during the 2019-2020 academic year, consistent with the university’s practice of continually evaluating programs for effectiveness and to ensure they fit with our mission, vision and focus.
In order to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the program, the university has determined that it is necessary to suspend admissions for any new students to UES majors in the BLA degree, effective Sept. 11, 2019.
Current class schedules will continue as will current students’ ability to register for upcoming classes. Financial aid and student support services also remain in place for current students.
The university plans to complete this review by the end of the 2019-2020 academic year and will follow up at that time with findings and possible next steps.
As a part of the review, the university will consider the potential impact of the program for our students, our university and our community. The assessment will take into consideration the student and market demand for such programs and how to support the educational needs of the Upstate. This will include capturing how other institutions in the region are supporting these needs.
