The Research Sequence       

SOC 301        Sociological Theory
SOC 302        Methods of Social Research
SOC 303        Analysis of Social Data
SOC 470        Qualitative Sociology Seminar
SOC 475        Sociology Seminar

The sequence requires that students take Sociological Theory (SOC 301), Methods of Social Research (SOC 302), which will have both quantitative and qualitative components, and then complete the quantitative project begun in Methods in the Analysis of Social Data course (SOC 303).  In addition, students must complete a qualitative project in the Qualitative Sociology Seminar (SOC 470) plus take one other Sociology Seminar (SOC 475).
